The cell phone market has grown every year since its inception, and the overall market continues to grow. In the United States, over 80% of the population now uses cell phones. That trend continues to grow, although much slower now than in previous years.
Every year in the Mobile World Congress Exhibition, we get to see the coming soon mobile phones. This exhibition which is generally held during the start of every year, promises to bring to the customers, the latest of innovation and research.
Blackberry is set to bring in some transformed smartphones which would have completely new features and looks. It is preparing to launch handsets which will flaunt a full touchscreen. Some expected models are Blackberry Curve Touch, Blackberry Monaco Touch, and Blackberry Sedona. The Blackberry Playbook will also debut in the tablet segment. This model will be a competitor to the Apple’s IPad and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab.
Contract cell phone plans continue to be popular with consumers. Prepaid plans continue to gain market share, though. They just make more sense for consumers financially. The economy has been bad for years and there’s no end in sight. The lower overall cost of prepaid cell phone plans will continue to boost their popularity and more consumers will choose prepaid plans over the traditional post paid contract plans.
